Most of my time lately has been devoted to sorting through slides and photographs and transferring them to a digital format. (I have three small unfinished paintings and an unfinished drawing mounted on my drawing board I have yet to deal with.) For a number of years I had the opportunity to travel with my lover as he taught and performed in various parts of the world. Time was always too short and there was much to see; I found I was not afforded the time necessary, in most cases, to deal with sketching or painting. Subject matter I found of interest I photographed. A few of the photos did act as source material for drawings but much of it was placed in storage and forgotten. That was until last year when I discovered a box containing well over a thousand images to sort through along with many video cassettes to deal with. What began as what as easy task has turned out not to be so. I have come to the conclusion, although my intent was to use the photos as source, the photos seemed to stand on their own. Being that I will most likely not live long enough to do as many paintings, drawings or prints based on my morgue, I decided to publish the photos.
