Though primarily inspired by dance, it is also being heir to a remarkable Caribbean heritage, and growing up in Bedford-Stuyvesant, Brooklyn that influence my work. Having communicated through movement most of my life, it’s only natural it show in my art. I use color, shape and texture as I dance through my canvas, honoring space and movement while making connections, much in the way a performer does with an audience. I work boldly, reiterating the vibrancy of my culture and history. My goal is to lift you, engage you in the “dance” and help bring to mind your own roots, heritage and those things that give you joy. I am a “choreographer on canvas.”
