My work is continuously evolving and changing. The images emerge from memories and imagination. The images reflect flashes of land, sea, and dwelling places; the true essence lies in the symbolism of each work. The subject matter becomes secondary to an emotional reaction to the landscape, color or movement. The new work has direction and control, yet there remains a spontaneity and freshness of line and color. Gesture and emotion are critical elements in the work. These personal visual diaries are at once real and imagined quick glimpses of a journey that continues on. I am always finding images in nature that take my breath away – they may have always been in view, but somehow they are new each time I see them.
