Surrealism and psychic automatism are in my thoughts as I draw closed forms with a continuous line, suggestive of stained glass. My lines are always kinetic, forming shapes that are specifically or abstractly referential. My sinuous curves are undeniably female and speak to the botanic, aquatic, and corporeal forms of our world. My subject matter draws heavily on my interior life, creating an emotional landscape. Whimsy, euphoria, repetition, and meandering lines suggest my daily unwinding thought. Words or phrases that resonate with me find their way into my drawings. Fantastical images emerge from these landscapes—interior, remembered, dreamed, and imagined.
