From a cylinder, with a round glass portal, I look out, observing,
occasionally participating.
An ephemeral sensation of a camouflaged moth, on a tree, in
the midst of a
lush green forest, absorbing all it’s environs, engulfs me.
Others get a glimpse of my life from that portal, that tree,
a solitary
instant in eternity.
I expose moments in my existence, with others.
That is how I exploit my photographic proclivity.
Gratification is gained when the visualizations of realities
are favorably
accepted.
Since my early stages, as an artist and photographer, I am
convinced that my
potential for creativity escapes the propensity to categorize,
characterize,
compartmentalize, explain, or limit how I use a camera.
What you see is me, this is where I am, this is what I am.
Yuka Hirata is a freelance photographer, and has done portraits,
weddings and
photojournalism. She also does customized and personal photographic
print
work for clients.
Her photo journalistic endeavors include travels to rural districts
of India,
Indonesia, Cambodia, France and Bangkok. She explored underwater
photography
in places such as Malaysia, Philipines, Maldives, Fuji Islands
and Tahiti. Her
photographs have appeared in several Japanese, Chinese and
Caribbean
newspapers.
