Andrea is very committed to the community art world. It is the only
venue the avant–garde can exist in a non-market environment,
while still remaining relevant or accessible to society.
Andrea Spiros is a Brooklyn born artist. She is currently living in
Clinton Hill.
She studied etching in The Whitney Museum Independent Study Program,
She earned a BFA from Brooklyn College where she studied with Lee
Bonteque. She has participated in shows at The Whitney, and Queens
Museums in NY and The Contemporary Art Museum in Thessalonica Greece,
as well as several NYC galleries.
The work for the Stroll will include pieces of a large environmental
mobile entitled “The Human Genome Project” It’s
made of rolled steel discs ranging from 8” to 3’ in diameter.
These were fabricated then hand painted. A few choice pieces of this
large work will be on display at the SONYA Prelude Exhibition at 1110
Gallery as well as at Inland Sea Studio, along with some new work.
