On the way to school, I saw art on walls and trains. This combination
has formed my life. Throughout my life I have come in contact with
many people and have been influenced by many artists. I am influenced
by the artists of the Edo period in Japan to Chuck Close, Dondi, Futura
2000 and Roy Lichtenstein.
I use an equation that best describes my art. The equation is Life
+ Music = Art. When brought together, these parts can be switched
any way and still be equal. With this equation I use supported material
such as cardboard, work on paper, oil on canvas, die-cast trains and
trucks to bring the everyday people and events to fruition. I incorporate
my deep appreciation for music to bring attention to the stories and
events by creating a soundtrack to my art. This helps even more to
bring the emotions of my artwork out to the viewer.
