Choosing pottery as a career (1966) I combined my love of architecture with a desire to hand make small beautiful functional and decorative objects for daily life, reasonably priced, unlike fine architecture. Study with Marguerite Wildenhain led to exploring where a lifetime of making clay objects leads. Speaking to my world through clay for forty years has led me to sculptural visions now dominating my work. My old clay friends, the mugs, honey pots, casseroles and teapots have not been lost in my daily work life.
