Cynthia Edorh

As Cynthia Edorh continues her investigations of the formation of the female identity at the margins, she feels the need for and the importance of that self-representation. She intentionally situates her work in the thin line between fiction and documentation to accentuate the ambiguities and comparisons.

“The new work focuses on adolescence, intimacy and vulnerability, I want these portraits to initiate a disquieting tension and a strong sense of nostalgia.” – Cynthia Edorh

Born in Montreal, Canada, Cynthia completed her BFA in Photography from Concordia University. Her work has been shown in exhibitions and film festivals in Canada and the United States, and is also part of private collections including those of John Chaich and Danny Simmons. Since moving to New York, Cynthia has also worked for Vibe Magazine's photography department, for Spike Lee's film “She Hate Me” and for HBO's “Death of Two Sons” Documentary Film.
