My most recent portraits were created in Northern India.
I have found in my years of traveling and creating art, that the
Differences in our cultures can belie our most basic similarities.
We all, laugh, cry, create, destroy are born and die.
We all seek to find sustenance for our bodies on lands of soil and
concrete.
We all seek sustenance for our souls in the faith found in religion
and spirituality.
To interpret the truth in all of the humanity that I have seen, I
approach the creation of these portraits from memory or very rapid
on-site life drawings, this brings the figurative abstraction of rapid
brush work in the portraiture and allows the works to speak more in
the tongue of the individuals soul.
