Since 1985, the artist building at 35 Claver Place has been home to numerous emerging and professional artists, under the gracious care of Anthony Chamberlain and Gina Inverso-Chamberlain. The follow artists are participants in the 2008 SONYA Studio Stroll.
Cedar Mannan- works in the mediums of neon, exploring light, vocabulary, linguistics, psychology, advertising, and media.
Sam Bland's- work consists of an amalgamation of xerography, graphic design, and classic studies that draw you in to his cultural observations.
John Bjerklie- “I get myself into a place, take materials, make drawings, and start making things, channeling things that have to do with that place.”
Melissa Gorman- creates portraits of places through mixed media techniques. She has currently been exploring the changes in the Brooklyn landscape.
Steven Samet -Recognized for his documentary photography utilizing a series of refrigerators.
Kennis Baptiste- Paintings that depicts abstract ways of capturing movement and energy using circles and curves.
Ju-Yeon Kim- installation fills floor to ceiling with delicate, bright, and white paper flowers. This 'whiteout' engulfs the viewer, giving rise to a visually and physically distorting experience that seeks to "bridge reality and unknown".
